The Fishery Product Technology Study Program (PS THP) was established in 2002 based on the Decree of the Director General of Higher Education No. 620/D/T/2002. Over the years, the THP Study Program has undergone the following accreditation process by the National Accreditation Board (BAN-PT):

• In 2007, it received a B grade (National Accreditation Board Decree No. 022/BAN-PT/AK-X/S1/IX/2007).
• In 2013, it received an A grade (National Accreditation Board Decree No. 044/BAN-PT/AK-XV/S/II/2013).
• In 2017, it received an A grade (National Accreditation Board Decree No. 5053/SK/BAN-PT/Akred/S/XII/2017).
• In 2022, it received an Excellent accreditation (National Accreditation Board Decree No. 10441/SK/BAN-PT/Ak.PEPS/S/XII/20122).

From 2002 to 2007, the THP Study Program campus was located on the Undip Pleburan campus in Semarang. Since 2008 until now, the PS THP campus has occupied the FPIK Undip campus in Tembalang, Semarang City.
